Prefect Training Camp

The prefects training camp was held on the 21st & 22nd of December 2022 in the HKYWCA Sydney Leong Holiday Lodge on Lantau Island. The camp, which was jointly organized by TSK and YWCA, was successful according to the students’ positive feedback.

 

During the overnight camp, prefects were given a series of adventure-based activities designed by YWCA with the aim of developing their leadership skills and boosting their confidence. Good communication with groupmates was necessary to work out an effective strategy to complete the tasks. During a night activity, senior students and group leaders needed to search their groupmates blindfolded. A stronger bond was formed within the group as their trust with their groupmates was important for this task.

 

It is believed that when prefects overcome these difficulties, they will be more confident in accepting new challenges. Although the tasks on the first day were strategic, the challenges on the second day were more physical. They needed to hike up the area near the famous Green Dragon Stream. It was a big challenge as they needed to overcome three obstacles during the hike. All of them had to put their physicality, teamwork and resilience to the test. The young leaders, with great confidence, completed and overcame the hurdles successfully.
