In order to arouse students’ interests in learning mathematics and develop their generic skills such as collaboration, problem solving and creativity, a wide range of activities are organized on Math Days. These activities include Math Game Booths, Math Competition, Math and Science Trail, etc.

In order to broaden students’ horizons and enrich their knowledge in mathematics, students are invited to participate in various mathematics competitions such as the Hong Kong Mathematical High Achievers Selection Contest, the Asia International Mathematical Olympiad Open Contest, the Huaxiabei National Mathematical Olympiad Invitational Competition, the International Mathematical Olympiad Preliminary Selection Contest, the Hong Kong Mathematics Olympiad, the Mathematics Book Report Competitions for Secondary Schools, etc.

Different types of mathematics board games such as Quoridor, Quixo, Quarto and Abalone are introduced in the workshops.  This helps develop students’ critical thinking skills and problem solving skills.

Some interesting and useful mathematics apps are introduced. This can help students experience the excitement and joy of learning mathematics.

In order to develop in students a positive attitude to learning mathematics and the capability to appreciate the aesthetic nature of mathematics, mathematics articles are prepared for students to read during lessons.
